90s Goth Bangs

So while reading N. Finsternis's post on her favorite 90s fashion inspiration, I saw this picture of Lydia from Beetlejuice, and was thinking of 90s trends that didn't quite make it over to the current nugoth/90s rivival/soft grunge whatever. Namely, the super-duper gelled bangs:

Does anyone else remember doing this? I do.

Sorry...I couldn't find my photo album to share with you my glorious bangs. I was a huge fan of this. I mostly wore them like this Vampire: The Masquerade gangrel:
my god, v:tm is the most 90s thing ever

Here's another way I remember wearing em...like Talon from the Crow TV series. messy, over your face, making your acne worse

This was every goth guy in high school:

And then there was the two-strand gel things, which was my first goth hairstyle:

Stayed in place all day like you're a still from JTHM

I can kinda see how this trend didn't get revived.  but maybe when people get tired of the natural hair thing and bust out the gel again.

  4. yaay, a follow up post! we are strong!
I love this styles, it´s very nostalgic haha! but kind of throws back to the 90s too much, which if maybe why it didn´t last too long. I love the long-front-short-back kind of look, it can look nice with different outfit styles.

    1. Lol yeah too 90s. And the long front short back seems super dated now... Though I loved it

  5. I have a recent pic of me where my hair is kind of like that but with water not gel. Also Johnny Depp in the new Dark Shadows movie, although the movie is silly.

I remember that picture being in my boyfriend's VTM book when we were first together! <3
