OOTD: Holographic Leather

Lol I blogged about the hologram trend in 2013, and got the skirt on sale last year (like 80% off) but surprisingly it was kind of hard to style. Mostly my hair is the problem, as it is in the wrong color scheme, but I finally didn't care and wore it anyway.

Paired it with Cement colored Lime Crime liquid lipstick. I never owned any Lime Crime stuff and was pretty pleased with this. It's a nice light gray color that looks super gray. Usually the gray lip colors are so dark they might as well be black. Do not get the hate with this brand. If dark fashion had it's version of gamergaters, it would be the wierdos who hate this brand for...I don't know...choosing seasonal colors? (people have bashed this brand for copying colors from other brands. These people have no idea how the industry works...or they really truly believe you can copyright a color. I mean, can you imagine a world where colors are copyrighted?)

American Apparel holographic leather circle skirt
American Apparel striped crop top
Lime Crime Cement liquid lipstick

If your hair doesn't match your outfit, do you just go for it anyway?

  1. That skirt is so cool! I love anything holographic (there's this pair of holographic Demonia boots that recently came out...), but I don't really have anything in my closet to pair it with x'D

    1. I would love a pair of holographic shoes. Lol probably easier to style that than a skirt

    1. Haha I was going to give you a heads-up on your blog yesterday but that would have been a total cheezeball thing to do lol

  3. To follow your last question, try styling it with a darker top. Silver has a tendency to make white and lighter colours look washed out or dirty, which is why when I was a blonde I couldn't get away with wearing it.

  4. The skirt and the lipstick are so sci-fi, love them! :) The mere idea of copyrighted colors is scary. :O

  5. The white top is good git, imho. I'd probably wear it with something in a cooler shade, something blue - is, perhaps something shiny...The lip color is awesome^^

  7. With red hair, I can't bring myself to wear amber or brown because it seems to clash... but it looks great with black so I'm happy!

    1. red and brown or amber are like the trees in autumn, so much so it's probably not the look you're going for lol. I'm thinking of going red myself, though I do agree it doesn't really go with as much as you'd think.

  8. 99.99% of the time my hair looks like utter shit. So, yes.

  9. One of the main reasons why I keep my hair black is that it does not interfere with what colours I can wear....I get kind of weird about colours and matching sometimes. However, I think that if you get a fancy new piece of clothing you should just say F*** it and wear it whether it matches your hair or not!
