2018 Trend Predictions

It's up for debate whether or not "dark fashion" is a "youth culture" thing, but I do know that every four years or so people come and go into the scene and the styles change. We've reached the end of another cycle, in my opinion. Nugoth is in its dying years and something's going to replace it.

My guess? I'm going with one of Vulcan Butterfly's recent trends in her Fall report: Maximalism

O-rings, D-rings, bondage straps, chains, hanging shit, jangly shit. It's in your face. It's from the 00s:
on the Dolls Kill website now
Much Extra. Speaking of the 00s, more shit from the the early aughts will come back:
yes I saw this RESTOCKED at Topshop

No more subdued nugoth looks with clean lines and geometric looks. It's going to be visual disarray: fishnets, pins, patches, tears, chains, things hanging, etc

What do you think will be the trend for 2018?

  1. Dark fashion maximalism...... I can get on board with that! I would love to see O-rings, D-rings, and bondage straps come back! It would be fun to try and incorporate these into one's grown up wardrobe in a somewhat subtle way.

  4. Ehhh, all of this just follows the dumb trend that Killstar have started. That's not the maximalism I want to see. Somebody bring romantigoth back! After all, it's 00s, too.

    1. I really hope the newest generation of goths take their own spin on it cause otherwise it'll just be what I wore in my teens/20s lol, and none of that was work appropriate
